Sept. 4, 2011

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This Labor Day weekend brings summer to it's official end, even as most of our students returned to school this past week. I am grateful that last weekend's storm wasn't as bad as had been predicted, but we continue to pray for those who suffered damage or loss of any kind. On our own campus we lost a couple of trees but thankfully there was nothing worse. As we enjoy Labor Day weekend please join us for Mass on Monday at 9:00am as we thank the Lord for the gift of work and employment and pray for those who are struggling to find work.

This Sunday at all of the Masses Fr. John and I will be introducing some of the upcoming changes to our English translation of the prayers at Mass. In the coming weeks we will begin using some of the new sung prayers at Mass, such as the Gloria, which will be changing in a fairly big way. Please see the additional insert in the bulletin that introduces the changes and stay tuned for much more in the weeks to come.

Finally, please join us next Sunday evening, September 11, at 8:00pm for a candlelit Rosary as we remember the victims of the 9/11 attacks and pray for peace in our world.

I hope to see you all at our upcoming OLPH Family Dinner Night this coming Saturday, Sept. 10, from 5-8pm. Have a very blessed new week!

Fr. Arnold
